The embroidery traditions we work in

Zardozi, metallic-thread bridal embroidery, our flagship. Maggam, South Indian hook embroidery, the canonical pairing for a Kanjivaram. Aari, fine hook-needle, lighter than zardozi, beautiful for engagement and sangeet. Naqshi, raised metal-and-thread bridal work. Mukaish, fine metal-coil embroidery, often paired with chikan. Pearl-Dabka, for the modern luxe bride. We also do Cutdana, Tilla, Kashida, Resham and Mirror.

How a bespoke blouse is made

Step one: design conversation, we sketch with you, in front of the saree, to settle on a neckline, sleeve length, back design, and embroidery motif. Step two: measurements, taken by our master tailor with a 16-point body chart. Step three: muslin trial, a plain cotton fitting before any embroidery is touched. Step four: embroidery, by hand, by the karigar, between 7 days and 6 weeks depending on density. Step five: final fitting with the saree.
