Pochampally Double Ikat in Twilight Indigo

Double ikat is the most demanding resist-dye craft in India — warp and weft both tied, dyed, and untied in calibrated patterns before the loom is even threaded. When it weaves, the motif appears in three dimensions. This twilight-indigo piece carries a classic diamond grid in ivory, with a finer geometric border. The Pochampally cluster is one of only three places on earth where double ikat is still woven.
