Heritage Kanjivaram · Hyderabad

If you love RmKV, you'll feel at home in Hyderabad

A real Kanjivaram has three things and no shortcuts: pure mulberry silk, real silver zari woven into the border and pallu, and the korvai join where the contrast border is woven separately and locked into the body on the loom. Bridal weights add a double warp and weft, and that's where the famous 'sit-up' drape comes from. Everything on our Kanjivaram shelf passes all three tests, GI-tagged, woven by families we've been buying from for nearly decades.

Heritage handloom kanjivaram saree at Trisha Silks Hyderabad

The three things to check

Silk Mark on the hologram. The magnet test on the zari (real silver-with-gold won't pick up). The korvai border, visible if you fold the saree and look at where the contrast meets the body. We'll show you all three at the counter.

Where ours come from

Kanchipuram cooperatives and a handful of single-family looms in Arani. Largely the same five families across two generations. No art silk, no semi-silk, no powerloom mix-ins.

What it costs here

Pure Kanjivaram starts at thirty-five thousand. Reception pieces with full pure zari from about sixty-five. Bridal korvai with temple, mango or peacock borders sit between one and five lakh, depending on weight and zari density.
