Where to Buy a Pure Kanjivaram Silk Saree in Hyderabad
A pure Kanjivaram has a korvai border join, three-shuttle weaving, real silk-core zari, the unmistakable hand of mulberry silk, and a GI Kanchipuram tag. If even one of the five is missing, you are looking at a soft silk or art silk imitation, and you should not be paying Kanjivaram prices for it.

The korvai border, the one test that matters
Open the saree along the border. On a pure Kanjivaram the border is a completely different colour from the body, and at the seam where the two meet you will see a tiny interlocking ridge of threads. That ridge is the korvai, woven on a separate loom and physically interlocked thread by thread. An imitation will have no ridge.
The zari pull
Pull one zari thread out from a discreet corner. Real Kanjivaram zari is a red silk thread wrapped first in silver, then dipped in gold. Pull it apart gently and you will see the red silk core. Fake zari is a flat metallised polyester strip with no core.
The GI tag and Silk Mark
Every genuine Kanjivaram should carry a Silk Mark hologram from the Silk Mark Organisation of India, and ideally a Geographical Indication (GI) tag confirming it was woven in the Kanchipuram cluster. Their absence on a saree being sold at Kanjivaram prices is a red flag.
