Kadhua Banarasi Jangla in Deepest Ruby — Banarasi saree from Madanpura, Varanasi
Banarasi · Madanpura, Varanasi

Kadhua Banarasi Jangla in Deepest Ruby

Atelier price · ₹1,85,000 (GST extra)

Woven on a pit loom in the Madanpura quarter of Varanasi by a third-generation kadhua karigar, this jangla flows across the body as a continuous trellis — no extra-weft floats cut on the reverse, every motif locked thread by thread. The ground is dyed in three baths to reach the deep, candle-lit ruby that catches gold under tungsten light. The pallu carries a meenakari paisley in soft mineral pinks and aqua against the silver-gilt zari, with a finely fluted kinari border. Reverse the saree and the cleanness of the back tells you what it is — kadhua, not cutwork.
